Review: I happened upon this book after seeing Paul on a genealogical webinar. I wasn't familiar with the story at all, so was fascinated by what he had to say and looked up the books and bought them. This one is well worth reading - I can't imagine having your world turned upside down as a child and then feeling like you had to pursue the truth to find out what happened. Definitely a riveting read and the writing style kept you turning the page to find out what happened next.

I also found the explanations from a genealogical and DNA research perspective interesting, and felt I learned something through the process that will help me with my own online search - even without the crack team that he had helping him on what seems like an impossible case, the explanations were helpful in understanding how they got their information, and I appreciate that.

If you have an interest in genealogy an the process for how Paul's team gets from A to B, this will be an interesting read.

Review: I heard Paul Joseph Fronczak on a podcast that I listened to. I was interested enough to follow up and read this book.
This is a heartbreaking, full of hope, book.

Paul Joseph Fronczak was a young man when he found out that he had been kidnapped and found again. Later he started looking at his family and started wondering how he fit in. Why did he look different? Why did he behave different? But he waited for many years to get a DNA Test.
When he did he found out he wasn't the child everyone thought he was. He wasn't the child taken from his parents.

As he went on a quest to find the real child for his parents and as he went looking for his real family, he learned so much.

This was a fascinating book. I was, at times, shocked, saddened, and happy for him. It must have been a struggle to end the book with a positive outlook but he did share his hope along with a plea to help him find the real child his parents lost so many years ago.

I stayed awake reading this late into the night. I encouraged everyone I know to read this book. It's a good read.

Review: If there was ever a life story that was so crazy, you'd never believe it to be true, here you go. Paul/Jack Fronzack blew my mind with this memoir. I'm still speechless.

It is impossible to fathom just how complex & gut wrenching Mr. Fronzack's search has been. As an adoptee, I could empathize, but to have your life linked to an infamous kidnapping, be 'found', learn that you really were not found, but abandoned under mysterious circumstances is just mind boggling. Add to that the discovery that not only were you abandoned, you had a twin sister... that your bio parents legit named the two of you Jack & Jill, & oh, Jill's most likely dead?

There's a tragic irony that a former actor ends up having their own life turn out to be more bizarre than much of what Hollywood creates.

I 100% recommend this book to anyone who loves mysteries and/or memoirs. As far as memoirs go, I've read many that I'd call interesting. 'Interesting' doesn't even begin to describe this. Holy sh*t! That's a more appropriate reaction.

I genuinely wish Mr. Fronzack well & hope with all my heart that one day, he finds what it is he seeks. It's rare that I say I'd like to meet/talk with random people, but here's one person who I believe genuinely gets what it means to have lived a surreal life.

Review: I am an adoptee, and a genealogist, so I particularly enjoy reading books about the true life, search and discover process for those of us seeking our true identities. This book is a fascinating, well written, a page turner. I finished it a month ago, and I have been unable to stop thinking about it. I have several family members wanting to read it now. I also think it's important for others who are not adoptees, to understand what this feels like. And for everyone to understand the secret and painful experiences many people have had, perhaps even pre-memory, that they are walking around with, the quiet inner dialogue going on while we are all just trying to live their lives. I bought a used copy, thinking it would not be particularly compelling. So wrong about that. Definitely worth your time to read!
